When head room is scarce, the space-saving Speed-Guardian™ 5000 LH comes to the rescue. The low head room track requires only 20” of head room clearance and is available for use on door openings to 18’0” wide x 21’4” high (model LH U 42) or 18’0” wide x 14’0” high (model LH CV 42).
A chain mechanism with spring compensation runs the sections into horizontal tracks. Either the U or CV door configuration may be paired with the 5000 LH for the ideal fusion of looks and customization, two common needs in parking applications. With either slat configuration, double-pane vision slats are options and available in clear or tinted. The tinted slats are a perfect choice where filtered light is required inside the building, but privacy from the outside looking in is desired. Optional perforated slats are selected for applications where ventilation is necessary, such as in parking garages.

Highly insulated and aesthetically-pleasing
The galvanized, double-skinned 1-5/8" thick (42 mm) x 10" high (254 mm) slats are insulated with our proprietary Hörmann polyurethane blend for a high level of thermal insulation and strength. The exterior skin is characterized by fine Micrograin lines, a surface design that supports superior thermal performance. On the interior, slats are Stucco-textured.
Our slat connectors make it possible to replace individual slats without the need to disassemble the entire panel. This added efficiency greatly reduces the amount of downtime for repairs.
Product Features
Light Curtain Protects and Minimizes Downtime
The standard light curtain is integral with the guide tracks making it less susceptible to damage and eliminates the need for additional protection devices such as a reversing edge and photocell. This system enhances protection of personnel and vehicles, drastically reducing the likelihood of damage, saving on maintenance costs when used in conjunction with motion or presence detectors.
Double-Pane Vision Slats Have Standard Duratec® Glazing
Our vision slats are double-pane, which provides greater thermal performance as compared to competitive brands with single-pane slats. Hörmann's exclusive Duratec® glazing is standard and guarantees maximum scratch resistance despite heavy use in rough industrial environments. The special surface coating protects the pane from scratches and damage caused by cleaning.
In addition to clear vision slats, all 5000 models have optional tinted / privacy vision slats available: Obscured White or Smoke Gray. Ventilated slats are also optional.
Long Service Life and High Efficiency
The variable frequency drive (VFD) guarantees nearly wear-free, quiet door travel, and takes stress off the entire door system. The smooth starting and braking action considerably extends the service life of the door.

This model includes:
- 5 years on the motor / gearbox (exludes catch system).

Tinted Vision Slats
Two styles of vision slats are available: Obscured White or Smoke Gray
The tinted slats are a perfect choice where filtered light is required within the interior side, but privacy from the outside to inside view is desired. Tinted slats filter incoming light creating a more comfortable workplace for employees working near doors that receive a lot of direct sunlight throughout the day.
Ventilated Slats
Ventilated slats are selected for use in applications where ventilation is necessary, such as in parking garages
Woodgrain Surface Imprints
Wood grain surface imprints are optional in shades of oak, cherry or maple.
